We booked a private tour and were trekking in Sapa for 2 days with a local guide. The guide was very helpful, could tell us a lot about all local habits/people. The first day we were at the Market in Bac Ha, day 2 was a tour around the rice fields. We really reccomend this trekking experience, since you get in touch with locals and see a lot of different things.

No way, in hours and hours, you can see every things. From buffalos to spices, from axe heads to medicinals, from wicker backpacks to Ethnic headgear. Yes, there are tourists, yes, there are many many more Hill people who come down to shop, see and be seen, eat and schmooze. Eat at the market, not at a nearby restaurant.

Wow! This place is as big and busy as it gets for a market. The colourful H'mong people have all their wares on sale - fresh vegetables, meat, all sorts of food, animals, fashion and accessories. The list goes on. So many motorcycles parked anywhere and everywhere. Chaos reigns but well worth visiting and buying.
