  • July and August are the time the red tides appear on the beaches and the sea in Phan Thiet, so it is not the time for swimming or water activities.

How to get to Phan Thiet

Phan Thiet is a provincial city in Binh Thuan province, 210 km from Ho Chi Minh city. The most convenient way to visit Phan Thiet from other provinces is by airplane. You can take a flight to Tan Son Nhat international airport in Ho Chi Minh city and from this city, you can easily catch a bus, train, or drive a motorbike by yourself to get to Phan Thiet.

Doi Duong beach

Located right in the center of Phan Thiet city, Doi Duong beach is looming under the lines of green casuarina trees. This beach seems like hiding the mysterious things waiting for you exploring. Doi Duong beach owns a clear crystal seawater and a wide sandy beach that is very suitable for sports activities such as volleyball, building sandcastles, etc.

Duc Thanh school

Duc Thanh school is an important historical site that relates to the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh. This small school is kept intact until now. Coming to Duc Thanh school, you will feel the serious space of the old classes where Uncle used to teach and the peaceful scenes of the green trees and school blocks.

Cham Poshanu Tower 

This construction was built in the 9th century. This tower firstly was a worshiping place for God Shiva, but then it was expanded and the princess Po Sha Inu was added to worship. This tower is a famous historical Cham relic in Binh Thuan with the featured Cham architecture that proves for the rich of the Champa Kingdom in the past.

Dinh Van Thuy Tu

Most coastal areas in Vietnam have the custom of worshiping Mr.Whale (Ong ca) as a god to protect the local people. In Phan Thiet, there is a temple of God Nam Hai, also known as Dinh Van Thuy Tu.

This place is saving the largest whale skeleton in Vietnam with a length of over 22m, weighing about 65 tons. Dinh Van Thuy Tu is also a place for important ceremonies, with special cultural activities such as bumper singing, boat racing.

Mui Ne fishing village

Traveling to Phan Thiet, it is a mistake if you forget to admire the sunrise in Mui Ne fishing village. The beach of Mui Ne in the early morning is very bustling, it is gathering spot of hundreds of fishing boats returning from a night-long sea trip.

Coming here in the morning, you will feel the bustling living rhythm of local people, they are so busy for loading and trading seafood from the fishing boats.

Fly sand dunes

Fly sand dunes are also known as Red sand dunes, this is the most famous destination in the area with the high and big sand dunes. One interesting point in this area is that the color of the sand is changed depending on the dunes and there are 18 colors that are free for you to explore.

Bau Trang

Bau Trang is dubbed as miniature Vietnam Sahara desert with the immense sandhills.

This site is called Bau Trang because “Bau” in the local language means “lake.” Local people said that this place used to be a large lake, then for convenient transportation, people built a road, so apart from the sandhills, there are two lakes in the area, one is called Bau Ba, and the other is called Bau Ong. 

Cu Lao Cau

Tourists who are always eager to explore new islands and Cu Lao Cau is a favorite spot recently. The small island is still intact with the sea in the turquoise color and space is still peaceful because it is not too crowded.

Some interesting places to visit for the Cu Lao Cau trip are coral reefs, Yen cave, Ba Hon cave, Nam Hai temple.
